Join Mary Bulfin for a foraging walk along the hedgerows of Mount Briscoe Organic Farm. Learn to identify edible plants and about some of their many other uses, including as herbal remedies.

The walk will be at a gentle pace on a sometimes-uneven surface. Family friendly. No dogs allowed.

Mary Bulfin, know as Wildfoodmary born and raised in the Irish midlands has a few lifelong passions, among them food, health and nature. WildfoMary began her adventures and learning at a very young age toddling through the woods with her beloved Grandma, soon graduating to long hours spent exploring and observing.

She and her family were raised on the best of home produce combined with wild plants herbs and mushrooms. When not climbing trees Mary spent time in the kitchen learning skills from her mother and by age ten was churning butter baking bread and serving up dinner for the family.

Later Mary Studied science, became an alternative health practitioner and chef'd for some years. Now as a forager she brings together her love of good food and respect for the environment in everyday life.

Wildfoodmary opens the door not only to edible wild plants but to a holistic view of our gardens, wild places and all the wonderful connections around us. Get up close to these gifts from mother earth, learn how  they can benefit us and where they fit in folklore and in their ecosystem.

Mary says “when I open a pot of preserves saved months earlier not only do I enjoy the flavour but the happy memory of the day out gathering comes rushing back to me
