HedgeRow Fest is being held at Mount Briscoe Organic Farm, Daingean Co. Offaly on Friday 4th & Saturday 5th September.
HedgeRow Fest 2026 is a boutique Hedge, Lit & Wellness Festival at Mount Briscoe, celebrating creativity, nature, heritage, hedgerows and the art of slowing down.
At the heart of the festival is the ancient craft of hedgelaying, with masterclasses demonstrating traditional techniques and exploring the vital role healthy hedges play in supporting biodiversity, wildlife and climate action. The programme also includes nature journaling, wild food foraging, creative weaving, and guided hedgerow walks exploring the fascinating web of wildlife, prey and pollinators that depend on these living boundaries.
The festival brings together an exceptional line-up of voices and talents, including acclaimed conservationist and practitioner Richard Negus, author of Words from the Hedge; folklorist Michael Fortune; singer, songwriter and composer Aileen Lambert; sculptor, weaver and artist Lynn Kirkham; Offaly creatives Philip Brady & Sean Smith; and conservationist and birder Mark Nowers.
The festival culminates on Sunday with The Delmaine String Quartet presenting The Company of Trees – A Celebration in Words and Music. Through poetry, prose, music and song, this evocative performance explores our long and complex relationship with trees and the forest world, and their emotional, aesthetic, environmental and philosophical place in our lives.
Come for the stories, stay for the landscape, and leave inspired by the living world around you. HedgeRow Fest invites you to slow down, reconnect with nature and discover the extraordinary creativity, culture and biodiversity held within our hedgerows.
A collaboration between Margaret Edgill, Organic Farmer at Mount Briscoe, and Daingean Development Association, the festival is proudly supported by Offaly County Council through the Creative Ireland Community Grant Programme and the Heritage Council.
