Mark Nowers is a self-taught birder and naturalist who cut his birdwatching teeth on a Young Ornithologist's Club trip to Beddington Sewage Farm back in 1983. Birds have been in his blood ever since, travelling across the UK and abroad to feed his passion, but nowadays, living a family life in south Suffolk, his birdwatching, surveying and nest-recording follows the rhythms of the season locally. For the last 25 years he has been fortunate to make a career from his hobby and is currently a conservation adviser supporting 100 farmers and landowners in Essex as part of Operation Turtle Dove.
